Peruvian writer Alfredo Brice Echenique will be awarded an honorary doctorate. Ricardo Palma Universityduring the ceremony, which will take place on Thursday, August 25 at 12:00 p.m. Kori Vasi Cultural Center (Avenue Arequipa 5198, Miraflores).
According to the press release, the outstanding storyteller will be honored with the highest award of the mentioned institution of higher learning “in recognition of his extensive intellectual work, a fact that honors literature and the Peruvian intelligentsia.”
Alfredo Brice Echenique presented by the poet, writer and literary critic Manuel Pantigoso Pesero, member Peruvian Language Academy and corresponding member Royal Spanish Academy since 1982.

Alfredo Brice Echenique (Lima, 1939), he entered the University of San Marcos (1957), where he graduated in law; he later received a Doctor of Literature (1977). He also graduated from the Sorbonne in Classical French Literature (1965) and Modern (1966).
The Peruvian writer has a master’s degree in literature from the University of Vincennes (1975) and has also taught courses in Latin American literature at the universities of Nanterre, Sorbonne and Vincennes-Saint-Denis in Paris and was an adjunct professor at the Paul Valéry University of Montpellier.
Alfredo Brice Echenique He is considered one of the greatest exponents of late 20th and early 21st century literature, as well as one of the most translated contemporary Spanish American writers.
