A series of cultural events that will last a week in Juarez Cityin the north of Mexicobegan on Sunday, August 21, to commemorate the sixth anniversary of the death of Mexican singer Juan Gabriel.

Led the municipal authorities of the city where Alberto Aguilera, real name John Gabrielbegan his artistic career, the celebration began with a parade of allegorical cars called “Arriba Juarez”.

The participating cars were decorated with balloons of different colors and canvases depicting a Mexican singer-songwriter with more than 50 music albums and were remembered for the songs “That’s how it was”, “Abrazame is very strong”, “Darling”, “El Noa-Noa” , “Eternal love”, “Until I met you” and others.

Juan Gabriel was considered one of the most successful artists in Latin America, as well as one of the best composers and the most famous characters in the musical world of Mexico. Its total sales are estimated at over 100 million copies worldwide.

His work includes more than 1800 compositions translated into different languages.

At the parade, one could appreciate the dance choreography of the participants in the songs also “Divo de Juárez” and highlight the musical interpretation of Rondalla Oro Juvenil.

The route of the procession participants was 4 kilometers, on which hundreds of juarens could enjoy the action and join the celebration of the memory of the Mexican artist.

Inside the allegorical cars was one that represented John Gabriel at different stages of their life.

21 cars participated in the parade, which is considered the first event since the COVID-19 pandemic, which will include various concerts and tours of the main points of the city, where he began his artistic career.

In the previous two years, due to the public health emergency caused by COVID-19, no activities were carried out to mitigate the spread of this disease.

Importance of Ciudad Juarez in Juan Gabriel’s trajectory
