“House of the Dragon”: who are the main characters of the series?

‘House of the Dragon’, the highly anticipated prequel to the hit series’game of Thrones’, which had its world premiere on August 21. Based on George R. R. Martin’s Fire and Blood, HBO’s new offering takes place two centuries ahead of its predecessor and tells the story of House Targaryen.

Unlike original fiction, ‘Dragon House’ does not tell about the fierce struggle of ambitious kingdoms and clans for power, its plot tells about the collapse of the only Targaryen dynasty for the sake of electing a new heir to the throne.

The main characters of the dynasty are ancestors daenerys, the enigmatic “Khalisi” or “Mother of Dragons” from the first series. With them, he shares his recognizable physique, as well as absolute command of the flight of dragons.

First episode of the series, ‘Descendants of the Dragon’, garnered 9.99 million viewers in just USAsurpassing the premiere of Game of Thrones, which attracted 4.2 million viewers in 2011.

King Viserys Targaryen (Paddy Considine)

The Lords of Westeros chose him to succeed the old King Jaehaerys Targaryen at the Great Council of Harrenhal. He is a warm, kind and decent man who only wants to continue his grandfather’s legacy. But good people are not necessarily great kings.

Prince Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith)

Younger brother of King Viserys and heir to the throne. A peerless warrior, dragon rider, Damon possesses true dragon blood. But they say that every time a Targaryen is born, the gods flip a coin.

Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke)

Daughter of Otto Hightower, Hand of the King and most attractive woman of the Seven Kingdoms. He grew up in the Red Keep, close to the king and his inner circle. He has courtly grace, but also political insight.

Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D’Arcy)

The king’s firstborn is of pure Valyrian blood and is a dragon rider. Many will say that Reynira was born with everything… but she wasn’t born a man.

Lord Corlis Velarion, “Sea Serpent” (Steve Toussaint)

He is the lord of House Velaryon, a Valyrian lineage as old as House Targaryen. As the “Sea Serpent”, the most famous sea adventurer in the history of Westeros, Lord Corlys has made his home a powerful place – richer than the Lannisters even – and lays claim to the world’s largest fleet.

Princess Rhaenys Targaryen (Eve Best)

The dragon rider and wife of Lord Corlis Velaryon, “The Queen That Never Was”, was excluded from succession to the throne because the kingdom favored her cousin Viserys simply because he was male.

Sir Christon Cole (Fabien Frankel)

Of Dornish descent, he is the son of Lord Blackhaven’s butler. Cole claims no land or titles, all he has is his honor and his uncanny skill with a sword.

Misaria (Sonoya Mizuno)

She arrived in Westeros with nothing, sold more times than she can remember. She could have withered… but instead, she became the most trusted – and most unexpected – ally of Prince Daemon Targaryen, heir to the throne.

Sir Otto Hightower (Rhys Ifans)

Ser Otto, Hand of the King, faithfully serves his king and his kingdom. According to the hand, the biggest threat to the kingdom comes from the king’s brother, Damon, and his position as heir to the throne.
