House of the Dragon became the most watched HBO premiere ever

The first episode of the series House of the Dragon was watched by 9.9 million people for HBO.

The first episode of the prequel series Game of Thrones was the network’s biggest premiere of all time, with 9.986 million viewers. This was reported by The Verge.

“It’s great to see millions of Game of Thrones fans return to Westeros. House of the Dragon has a wonderful cast and crew who put their heart and soul into this production, and we’re thrilled with the positive response from audiences ,” said HBO Content Director Casey Bloys.

The original series Game of Thrones ended its run with 13.7 million viewers on linear channels, while the 2019 finale garnered more than 19 million views.

It was previously reported that HBO has released the trailer for the series House of the Dragon – the prequel to Game of Thrones.
