The character’s first appearance in live-action took place in 1995 through the feature ‘Gasparzinho, o Fantasminha Camarada’.
Peacock, NBC Universal’s streaming platform, will bring the friendly ghost back to the screens through a live-action miniseries by Gasparzinho, as reported by Deadline.
Produced by UCP and DreamWorks Animation, the new story will be scripted by Kai Yu Wu (Hannibal and The Flash) and will take a darker approach, permeating between the adventure and horror genres.
According to the online magazine, the production’s plot will follow Gasparzinho who “finds himself involved in a mystery discovering dark secrets that have been buried for over a hundred years” after the arrival of a new family in the city of Eternal Falls.
It is worth remembering that Gasparzinho appeared in the 40s through the animation ‘The Friendly Ghost’ and soon after he was present in comic books.
In addition, the character appeared for the first time in a live-action work in 1995 through the feature ‘Gasparzinho, o Fantasminha Camarada’ where he falls in love with the human Kathleen Harvey, played by Christina Riccithe eternal Wandinha Addams.
The miniseries does not yet have a premiere date, title or cast released, so fans of the ghost will have to wait for new information.
