The original audioseries premieres on the platform on March 3
Spotify announced today, 12, the cast of the Portuguese adaptation of the original audioseries “Batman Despertar”, which premieres on May 3 on the streaming platform. Besides Rocco Pitanga in the role of Bruce Wayne, the production for Brazil has a large national cast.

This Original Spotify audioseries also has the special appearances of Felipe Castanhari as a phrenologist, Erico Borgo as Gray Ghost, Catarina Garcia like Poltergeist, Ivan Costa like thief and Gabriel Godoy like Samuel.
Daniel Rezende (Bingo, Monica’s Gang and Elite Squad) and Marina Santana sign the direction of “Batman Despertar”, a production by Spotify Studios in association with Ultrassom Music Ideas, adapted from the US original Batman Unburied, produced by Phantom Four and Blue Ribbon Content in association with Wolf at the Door, created by David S. Goyer.
“Building the dark tone of Gotham City through the voices of each of the characters was the great challenge. The most interesting thing about working on an audioseries is that the sound resources form images inside the listeners’ heads. And for that to happen, all the stages deserve special attention”, comments Marina Santana. “The audioseries had to sound very realistic, it couldn’t sound like an animation or a dubbing, which are other languages. That’s why, from the beginning, I wanted to face it as if I were directing a movie, but with my eyes closed. most of the scenes with the whole cast together, something that is not exactly common in the audio market. I always thought this would give the realism that we were looking for”, completes Daniel Rezende.
This will be the first project to debut as part of the multi-year deal between Spotify, Warner Bros. and DC. The partnership will bring DC’s vast library of iconic characters across new Spotify podcasts to unite fans around the world in an unforgettable audio experience. The audioseries debuts globally with eight adaptations of the original US script developed for Brazil, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan and Mexico.
