Juaneco y su combo, one of the first cumbia bands from the east in Peru, is working on launching a musical project featuring various national artists. The result will be recorded on a new disc, which will be announced shortly.
As a prelude to this new production, the band premiered the first unreleased single titled “The myth of ayahuasca’, which features musician and composer Miki Gonzalez.
“To all our dear followers here, with great love, we present the new video of Huaneco and his combo along with the great national musician Miki Gonzalez, an unpublished song written by Juan Peso Wong,” Huaneco and his combo posted on their social networks.
In its turn, Miki Gonzalez expressed his gratitude for the invitation to be part of this new musical project. “I never thought of collaborating with Huaneco and his combo. Eternal gratitude! I play guitar with wha wha. Another guitar – Pakurro! This is already on all platforms, ”the musician said in his Instagram account.
Huaneco’s trajectory and his combos
Huaneco and his combo appears in 1966 in the Peruvian Amazon, having as a founder John Wong (Juaneco) on keyboards, as well as Noe El Brujo Facin on lead guitar, Vilindoro Cacique on vocals, Rosendo Hidalgo on timbales, Walter Dominguez on bass, Juvencio Pinci on congas and Wilberto Murrieta on second guitar.
In 1970 they recorded their first 45 rpm disc with the songs “San Juan Party’YU’They stole my rune mula’, thanks to the huge success achieved, they recorded their first LP called ‘great leader’, which included classics such as ‘Spinner woman’, ‘The Little Mermaid in Love’ and the excellent ‘Ayahuasca Indecision’.
The main characteristic of the group is the re-evaluation of the typical local costumes, as well as the traditions and beliefs of a magical region full of charm, such as the Peruvian jungle.
