Forget the wedding of Megan Markle and Prince Harry? Never.
And it’s obvious that even the royal couple’s friend and wedding DJ – actress Idris Elba – doesn’t have it, as she continues to share curiosities about May 19, 2018, the big day.
The actor “Luther” appeared. BBC “1Xtra Rap Show” This past weekend and I spoke with host Tiffany Calver about her role as DJ at the couple’s wedding reception.
“By the way, how was Harry and Megan’s wedding?” Calver asked. “What melody drives everyone crazy?”
“I want to dance with someone,” Elba said, referring to Whitney Houston’s classics. “They went to that melody.”
Elba said that another song that people enjoyed was “ANCORA DRE”
“What is it really?” Culver said at first glance wondering: “I know I like them.”
“It was Megan’s choice,” the actor said from the 1999 hit by Dr. Dray and Snoop Dogg, presented by Calver for BBC audiences.
“Let’s touch it,‘ Still DRE ’, chosen by Megan Megan, Duchess of Sussex, at her royal wedding in 2018,” Calver said as he introduced the song. “What a tip!”
Elba had previously said she would not disclose the couple’s playlist, although she acknowledged that Houston and “some of the west coast” were on the list Megan sent her.
He also recounted the pressure that followed the Royal DJ’s gig and he admitted that he first thought it was a joke when Prince Harry asked him to perform.
“How many times have I met Harry and William and Harry went to some parties where I was a DJ,” Elba told Ellen DeGeneres in 2019. And one day, Harry said, “Hey man, what are you doing on the 19th of May?
“I say, ‘Nothing.’ He’s going, um. Do you want to DJ at my wedding? ‘ My answer: is this a joke? Are you kidding? “Said Elba.” Besides, he’s serious. “
Of course, it was one of the most stressful concerts on Elba, apart from the high level of his career.
“It didn’t feel like my cousin’s wedding,” the actress said in an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon last year. “He was, you know, he wasn’t on the City Council, in the living room. This is a big problem ”.
“They were good friends and I wanted to make sure they were happy, so there was a lot of pressure.”
