This process is nothing new for k-pop fans, but have you ever wondered how companies break the news to trainees that they will finally debut? In a recent YouTube video, the NMIXXJYP Entertainment’s newest girl group, revealed what their experience was like.
During the “PICK NMIXX” frame, the members good and Haewon commented on what their reactions were at the exact moment they received the news, and how it all happened.
“We had been training for so long, and we hadn’t been excluded from the debut team. We were eagerly practicing. Instead of feeling happy and excited, I felt so relieved,” Haewon said.
good also revealed that she was relieved but fearful that JYP would change the final lineup — something she was pretty sure would happen. However, nothing was changed in the end.
“I was so relieved. Our members were together for a long time. Honestly speaking, I thought it would be impossible for the members to debut on the same team. I thought there would be some kind of change with the members. Something like. But we kept training and debuted. I thought ‘Wow. We really did a good job.’ It was very surreal,” Bae said.
When explaining how the news was given, the members revealed that, contrary to what many might think, it was extremely simple and straightforward. According to the girls, “JYP Entertainment didn’t say ‘You’re going to debut now’. JYP just said, ‘You guys are going to be together from now on.’”
