Newjeans can pay high fine if deciding to perform activities such as NJZ

After prohibition of independent activities using the new name, the South Korean Court comes to the fine if the action occurs

This Friday, 30, new information about the process involving the members of Newjeans and the ador, a company that took care of the group’s career within Hybe, were released by the South Korean press. The statement refers to the previous decision to grant an injunction to the adoring prohibiting Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin and Hyein to perform independent activities under the name NJZ.

According to the Central District Court of Seoul, the group cannot carry out entertainment activities, either independently or through third parties, without prior authorization from the company. The decision will remain valid until the verdict of the judgment on the validity of the contract is announced.

“The debtor, NJZ, should not be involved in independently or by third parties without the approval or prior consent of the ador until the first verdict of the judgment on the validity of the contract is announced.”

The court also ordered a fine in case of non -compliance, that is, if all members violate the order, they must pay 1 billion Wons (about $ 729,000) to the ador, and bear the legal costs of the process.

The judicial dispute is still underway, and the next hearing is scheduled for June 5.

More about the case

The conflict began after the departure of Min hee jin of the position of CEO of the ador, accused by the Hybe of attempted internal blow. The creative director denied the accusations and, in her defense, stated that the company prioritized other groups to harm Newjeans.

With the breakup, the five members decided to end their contracts with the ador, alleging lack of support and allegations of mistreatment by label employees. The company, in turn, disputes the termination, stating that the contracts are legally valid-a matter that is still being analyzed by the South Korean court.

Since then, the group began to operate under the name NJZ, however, a court decision prevents the use of the new brand without the authorization of the ador, causing Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin and Hyein remain in hiatus while awaiting the completion of the process.
