Why does Lilo believe that the cute fish controls time?

If you have watched ‘Lilo & Stitch’, an animation released by Disney in 2002, you should remember that Lilo likes to photograph tourists, usually collects recyclable garbage on the beaches, loves the Elvis Presley And, of course, you can never stop feeding cute with a specific sandwich – after all, a carelessness and it could make the poor fish eat its own species!

It turns out that Lilo had a rule: every Thursday she dived into the sea to bring a peanut butter sandwich to the fish she named as a floufing. She made this ritual due to a belief she developed alone, and which is surrounded by doubts by fans of the animation: she believes that fish has the power to control time.

This revelation comes at the beginning of the movie, where the girl tells her teacher that she was late for Hula’s rehearsal because the sweet paste is over and her sister Nani suggested that she use tuna as a stuffing for bread. For obvious reasons, Lilo did not accept the suggestion and went to the market to buy more from the peanut cream to serve for the cute.

But why didn’t she just leave the sandwich to the cute on another date? The answer can be granted through a theory created by fans who believe that the reason is exposed in its own animation, but only the most attentive could you realize.

Why does Lilo believe that the floppy fish controls time?

The idea gains strength with the scene where Stitch finds Lilo’s parents’ photo – which she hides under her pillow – and she reveals to the blue alien that her father and mother died in a car accident during a storm.

With this, there is the theory that, on the date when Lilo’s parents died, she, for some reason, was unable to bring food to the flouf and, coincidentally, that same day, there was a great rain – that’s how Lilo came to believe that his action had had a terrible consequence, and that the fish was responsible for climate control.

So Lilo did his best to make sure the fish always had the snack, so time would not change radically again and take someone more important to her!
