Craig Mazin, HBO series creator, ‘The Last of Us’, shares information about a possible fourth season of the plot
The second season of ‘The Last of Us’ has been approaching the end. With the last episode aired on May 25th, next Sunday, fans comfort with the already confirmation of the third part of the series that adapts the eponymous game. But what about a fourth season? One of the creators of the production, CraigMazincommented on the possibilities.
During an interview with Collider magazine, the filmmaker and screenwriter revealed that the story to be developed in the third season of the show is very long, so the probability of a fourth part being developed is great.
“The narrative has natural perforations where you can say,” Okay, let’s cut here. “I think there is a good chance that the third season is longer than the second, simply because the form of this narrative and the opportunities it offers us is a little different. The problem with Joel’s death is that it is so impactful. Bill and Frank said the filmmaker.
Craig It reveals the concern that “I’m not sure if this will necessarily be true for season three. I think we’ll have a little more space there. But certainly there is no way to complete this narrative in a third season. Hopefully we won enough to go back and finish it in a fourth. That’s the most likely result.”
The producer also reports that with the HBO team, focus on the longevity of the plot, revealing that the goal to be achieved. “We think of the future for the 3rd and 4th seasons to get as much visibility as possible,” he said.
He justifies the purpose by sharing that the intention comes from fear of stagnant in a situation like, “Wow, if that person had not said that speech, or were in that place, or used that jacket, that would be much cooler”, so Mazin It continues to explain that the show’s developers “thought of things fundamental.”
“The challenge of our first season was: how to tell this great story in a complete and feasible way within a deadline and with the budget we have?
The writers stressed by saying that “now, in fact, we are in a more traditional suspenseful way, where you tell a story and ends the season with something that says, ‘Wow, this will change a lot of things, and see you when we go back and continue from there'”, exposing why other seasons are already being idealized to ‘The Last of Us’, ” About what the existing narrative offers us and what we should do. I am always thinking: what are the things that only The Last of US does?
Craig Mazin It also reports that all the ease of the plot is thought of the public experience when watching the work and “how he will feel when he reaches the end of something,” thus ending the appeal: “I hope we can prepare them to want to go back when we go back to next season.”
