5 things you need to know about Lex Luthor

Discover some curious facts that you may not know about Lex Luthor, one of the main villains of the stories about Superman

Lex Luthor is one of the most striking villains in the history of comics. Superman’s enemy, the DC Comics character was created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shusteremerging for the first time in 1940, at HQ “Action Comics #23”.

In the magazines, its history of origin has already had several versions and changes, but the most popular, released in 1986, says he was the son of abusive parents, growing in a region called Suicide Favela. Due to his difficult childhood, the boy developed a great ambition and, in adolescence, killed his own parents, using the money he received from life insurance to found LexCorp.

1. Red hair

When we think of Lex Luthor, we soon imagine the figure of a bald man. However, in some comics, certain versions of the character appear with long, often red hair – including the beard.


2. President of the United States?

4. Cancer

In the comics, the disease affected his hand, forcing him to amputate the limb to prevent cancer from spreading to the rest of the body. To circumvent death, Lex transplained his brain to a healthy clone, returning to Metropolis pretending to be an illegitimate son.


5. Scientist?
