Simon McQuoid will once again take the director’s chair for the popular martial arts movie.
New Line Cinema has begun filming the sequel to Simon McQuoid’s action-adventure Mortal Kombat. Deadline reports.
Details about the upcoming sequel to the film adaptation were not disclosed by the publication’s sources.
It is noted that the first part of the film was released simultaneously in theaters and on HBO Max during the coronavirus pandemic in 2021. The film then performed at the box office, and became one of the best feature films on HBO Max from when the platform was launched.
The tape grossed $83.6 million worldwide in the post-COVID era and was also viewed 3.8 million times in online theaters.
It was previously reported that HBO has released a full trailer for the House of the Dragon series.
