Check out some places of Busan, South Korea’s second largest city, which can be recognized by all dorama fans
In recent years, the popularization of South Korean culture has become increasing. Due to this movement, known as Hallyu or Korean wave, made tourism grow significantly. According to Embratur, only in 2019, for example, 86.8% of international tourists who went to the country visited the region after being influenced by K-Pop and K-Dramas.
It is even thanks to the k-dramas (popularly known in Brazil as South Korean doramas) that many places from different cities in the country are drawing the public’s attention. Among the most popular is Busan, South Korea’s second largest city.
Located 390 km from the capital Seoul, the region has served as a scenario for numerous popular doramas, making even those who have never visited the country personally, can easily recognize the place. Meet some!
1. Dadaepo beach
Appearing in “The King: Eternal Monarch”, Dadaepo Beach is recognized for being a quiet and extensive region with a breathtaking sunset. Tourist’s favorite attractions include sea fruit restaurants, natural reserves and sunset source of Dadaepo, a place that also offers light and water shows accompanied by music.

If you visit Busan next to your loved one, you need to stop by Porto Jungni’s headlight, one of the most romantic places in the region. There you can have a spectacular view of the sparkling ocean and the waterfront, being a quiet refuge for couples in love. In k-dramas, the place can be seen, for example, in “Marry My Husband”, when Kang Ji-Won (Park Min-Young) And Yoo Ji-Hyuk (In In-Woo) take a walk on the coast.

Situated in an area of rocky cliffs overlooking the ocean, the Haedong Yongguungsa Temple is one of the favorite sites of tourists in Busan. Built around 1376, the Buddhist temple offers, besides amazing landscapes, a moment of calm and meditation that everyone needs to experience. Within the doramas, the place can be seen in “My Name” during a meeting of a criminal group.
4. Vila Hocheon
One of Busan’s main sights is Vila Hocheon, known for its colorful homes built on the slope of a mountain. Although it is already beautiful in daylight, the place becomes even more charming at night, when the lights of the houses and alleys come on. Among the most popular doramas who had scenes recorded in the region we have “Fight for My Way”, where the characters often met in the Namil Bar, an establishment that exists in real life.
5. Taejongdae Park
Taejongdae Natural Park is located on the southern end of Yeongdo Island in Busan, featuring a lush landscape of the sea and dense trees. For those who are not walking fans, the tour can also be held by the Taejongdae Danubi train. In the k-dramas, the region appears in “Pachinko”.
