In addition to presenting the main quartet, the preview also features the introduction of another important character for the film’s plot: Shalla-Bal, Surfer Prateata, an alternative version of Galactus’s herald, which will be played by the actress Julia Garner. But, do you know who she is? Recreation explains you!
Who is Shalla-Bal, the new silver surfer?
Created by Stan Lee and John BuscemaShalla-Bal first appeared in Marvel’s comics in 1968, at HQ “Silver Surfer #1”, being known as the Immortal Empress of Planet Zenn-La, the same as Norrin Radd, the silver surfer, a character in which he was his boyfriend before the arrival of Galactus.
After the beloved becomes a world-eaten herald as a form of sacrifice so that his planet was not destroyed, becoming the silver surfer, the two spent years separate until finally managed to meet again. However, when the moment happened, everything was quite different.
This is because, at this time, Shalla-Bal became the janitor of the great truth and the main housekeeper of Zenn-La, making the planet in a great imperialist power, causing the former couple to enter an epic confrontation as they meet on Earth.
Shalla-Bal as silver surfer
Shalla-Bal’s first appearance as a silver surfer only happened in 1999, through the “Terra x” comic, set in a post-apocalyptic future with a new galactus, which was responsible for transforming the empress into a herald.
Like others of its kind, one of its main skills is to have a much greater longevity than that of an ordinary human being. More than that, when wielding “cosmic power,” Shalla-Bal can also restore through the life of the Zenn-La-La-Life, as well as being able to use the same power to send telepathic calls that cover the entire universe.
