After prohibiting independent Newjeans activities, the Central District Court of Seoul denied objection of the idols and upheld the decision
On Wednesday, 16, the Central District Court of Seoul, in South Korea, denied the objection of Newjeans about the previous decision of granting an injunction to the adoring prohibiting Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin and Hyein to perform independent activities under the name NJZ.
It turns out that last year, the quintet publicly stated that exclusivity contracts with the ador, the agency by which the group debuted, had been terminated on the grounds that the company did not comply with some clauses of the signed tract.
In the midst of the conflict, they would decide to follow together as NJZ, even performing at Complexcon in Hong Kong on March 23. As a result, the ador, who states that contracts remain valid, has filed an injunction to ban singers to make individual promotions and sign contracts, including those related to advertising and sponsorships, as an independent group – which the court granted on March 21.
Shortly thereafter, the five members appealed to the decision through a formal objection, resulting in the hearing to reassess the case, but contrary to what the group expected, the new event event eventually culminating in reaffirming the injunction.
“Even with mind the allegations and support materials [que os membros do NewJeans] They are repeatedly emphasizing through this appeal, ”said the judge in a declaration echoed by the Soompi portal,” by reading the file, it can be judged that this preliminary decision is fair. “
Still, the members of the Newjeans decided to file a new appeal after the court has made original decision. At the same moment the limitation was reaffirmed, the quintet appealed to the Supreme Court of Seoul for the case to go through a new assessment.
“We will continue to participate diligently in the legal procedures that will come and do our best so that the facts are clearly revealed,” said the legal representative of the idols.
The case is still underway.
