Do NJZ parents (Newjeans) have conflicting opinions on contract with the ador?

Following the first hearing in court for legal dispute between ador and newjeans, rumors about the parents of the quintet are disagreeing comes to light

This Friday, 04, came to light that some parents of NJZ members, former Newjeans, would be in disagreement with the judicial dispute involving the termination of the exclusive contract of the artists with the ador. The contractual dispute between the group and the label officially began in April of the previous year, motivated by tensions between Hybe, the company that responsible for the ador, and the then CEO, Min hee jin.

The first hearing took place last Thursday, April 3, at the Central District Court of Seoul, in which, during the session, the judge questioned whether the Family Court had validated the parental rights of all responsible so far, which raised the possibility that not all parents would be aligned with the progress of the process.

Between the quintet, two have not yet reached the adulthood imposed by South Korea, Haerin and Hyeinwhich requires the legal agreement of parents for contractual decisions. South Korean media pointed out that the divergence between the parents of one of them would have motivated the intervention of doubt, showing for the first time a possible division in the decisions of those responsible for the members.

It is worth remembering that the South Korean legislation states that, in the case of minors, both parents should act together in the legal representation of their children, that is, with the lack of consensus among some of them, the possibility of new court decisions are necessary to define who can act on behalf of artists is very large.

However, with the repercussion of rumors, those responsible published a new note through the stories of their Instagram profile, now named “@mhdhh_PR”, denying any kind of division between them, “the reports of some media vehicles claiming that ‘there is a division between parents’ parents’ are completely false.

Still in the statement, they reinforce that all five members maintain the decision not to return to Hybe, and that this choice was made in agreement with their families.

“The girls keep keeping this same position, and we parents fully respect and consistently support the desires of our daughters,” they reported

Those responsible also criticized the use of personal and family information as a form of public influence and warned of the sanctions provided by law in cases of false disclosure, saying: “Parental rights issues are private family issues. We hope there will be no more malicious use by linking it to the legal dispute with the ador.”

Concluding the note, parents said they have no confidence in the new management of the ador and Hybe:

“As parents, we cannot send our daughters back to a company that has been built on the basis of trust but is now using family issues for media manipulation.”

The case remains in progress.
