Meet The Rose, South Korean band that will perform in Brazil

This Wednesday, 2, the band South Korean The Rose announced that he will return to Brazil in 2025 to perform a unique show in Sao Paulo on August 8, bringing the tour “Once Upon a WRLD”. Pre-sale starts on August 7 at 10am, through the group’s app, The Rosarium, while the general sale will take place from the 10th of the same month at 10am through the Tickets for Fun website.

What is the origin of The Rose?

Unlike many K-pop groups, The Rose was not formed thanks to a company, but by the members themselves. In 2015, Dojoonwhich was a trainee at DSP Media, met Jaehyeong In street performances in the Hongdae neighborhood, and kept contact.

Later, Jaehyeong he knew Hajoonand came back in contact with Dojoon Offering them formed a band, as the colleague had just new to the entertainment agency. With this, the three came together and formed an independent band called Windfall.

At first, in addition to writing his own songs, the trio also used to post covers on Youtube and perform on the streets of South Korea. Thanks to his talent, the set started to draw attention in the Indie scenario, and began the search for an integral room. This is how, with the help of a common friend, Dojoon managed to recruit Woosung.

With the growth of his success in 2016, the quartet signed a contract with the company J&Hstar Company, making its debut in 2017 with the single “Sorry” and a new name: The Rose. The track, despite marking the beginning of everything, was not long before it became a success, receiving a shower of positive criticism and being elected by Billboard as one of the best songs that year.

Even with its fame still on the rise, in 2020, the band had to go through a complicated moment. This is because, that year, the quartet filed a lawsuit against J & Star Company, alleging mismanagement, lack of payments and excessive work, requiring the end of its exclusive contracts.

The judicial dispute extended until 2021, when the South Korean court ruled that Woosung, Dojoon, Hajoon and JaehyeongThey were free for a new beginning. This is how, in 2022, the group decided to open his own company, Windfall, in honor of the band’s first name. For promotions in the United States, the group signed a contract with Transparent Arts.

A year after founding the new agency, The Rose made history in Brazil by becoming the first South Korean act to perform in the Brazilian edition of the festival, attracting a crowd to the Adidas Stage at the Interlagos racetrack.
