The play ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ was suspended in Brazil. It turns out that the show’s global producer, Sonia Friedman Productions, canceled the contract with VME, a company behind the national adaptation that would play in São Paulo.
Potterheads (as the Harry Potter franchise fans are called) learned of the news last Tuesday, 25, when Folha revealed that the cast was communicated by postponement without planning by email, and shared a statement of Shannon Kingettfrom Sonia Friedman Productions explaining the decision.
“Significant challenges besides our control have prevented us from launching production at the level of quality we expect. As a result, we made the decision to separate from the local producer,” Shannon said.
The debut date of the play in the national territory had not been confirmed. In the cast were names like those of Hugo Bonemerthat would interpret Harry Potter, Adriana Lessawho won the role of Hermione Granger, and Arthur Bergeswhich would live Ron Weasley.
