Netflix will distribute a live-action series of Scooby-Doo, which aims to show the origin of the group of friends that solves terrifying mysteries
A live-action series of Scooby-Doo is in production by Warner Bros. TV to be made available by Netflix, as released by The Hollywood Reporter (via omelet), a portal that says the plot has been under development to get off the ground for almost a year.
“The mystery machine is back in business! We are excited to bring Scooby-Doo to TV as a Live-action series for the first time,” said Peter Friedlander, Vice President of Netflix script series in a statement. “The beloved franchise has had an undeniable impact on pop culture – it is rich in universal friendship themes that generations of fan have long embraced. Along with the creative powers Berlanti Productions and Midnight Radio, we are committed to delighting long -term fans and opening a world of amazing adventures for a new era of intruded children.”
The narrative should show the origin of Velma, Sausage, Scooby, Daphne and Fred, which will begin the missions to solve mysterious cases during a summer camp, where they will try to solve the disappearance of a German dagger puppy – which may have witnessed a supernatural murder as reflected by the Omelete portal.
To tell this story, the streaming company would have already ordered the episodes, which will have Josh Apelbaum (Citadel) and Scott Rosenberg (Jumanji: Welcome to the jungle) as writers and also executive producers of the series, while Greg Berlanti joins the project as an executive producer by Berlanti Productions, which was behind the DC series at CW.
Remember that Scooby-Doo emerged as a series animated by Hanna-Barbera. The title, which later belonged to Warner Bros., was transformed into a franchise, winning series and movies for TV and Cinema, including Live-Action feature films as the classic “Scooby-Doo” (2002) and its sequence “Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters A loose” (2004).
The debut date for the Scooby-Doo live-action series has not yet been revealed.
