Find out what was the lost episode of ‘Chaves’, a Mexican series created by Roberto Gómez Bolaños, who was found and almost no one watched
In 1972, “El Chavo Del Ocho”, known in Brazil for the title “Chaves”, aired for the first time on Mexican television. The plot follows Chaves, an orphan boy who likes to hide inside a barrel in the village of his belly, where his friends, Quico and Chiquinha also live, as well as his Madruga, Dona Florinda and Dona Clotilde, better known as the 71 witch – adults with whom the character has several clashes due to the confusions in which he gets.
Created by Roberto Gómez Bolañosthe show was made available in several other territories, being aired in Brazil for the first time in 1988 by the SBT broadcaster, which brought episodes of the title to its programming for 36 years, making the title a great national phenomenon by making it part of the leisure and entertainment of Brazilians for decades.
With 312 episodes aired, according to the Tecmundo portal, the series has 273 chapters still distributed by Televisa, but 39 of them are considered “lost” – one of those, even, was discovered by fans on February 4 this year: ‘Seu Madruga Photographer’, a plot that aired in mid -1974, as reflected by Portal Adventures in History.
What is ‘Your Madruga Photographer’ about?
The episode follows its dawn (Ramón Valdés) In a new attempt to make money: working as a photographer. However, keys (Roberto Gómez Bolaños) ends up disturbing him, as he drops the photography equipment of Chiquinha’s father (MARIA ANTONIETA DE LAS NIEVES) several times.

Malicha’s appearance has great relevance, because, until then, fans only knew three episodes in which the character appears alongside the protagonists.
It is also noteworthy that the synopsis is not unknown to the frequent fans of production, after all, a different version of this episode aired in 1977.

The 1974 edition of ‘Seu Madruga Photographer’ was discovered by the researcher Shambler Casperthose who have already found other lost episodes of Chaves and also Chapolin Colorado, according to Liberal, in a 1982 recording by the family of Juan Felipe Gómezfrom Bucaramanga, in Colombia.
The lost episode was scanned with the help of Leonardo Ramírez And it had been made available on the YouTube Forum Chaves channel, the official fan club in Brazil, however, the content was removed from the web for breaking Televisa’s copyright, the broadcaster responsible for making the show originally available between 1973 and 1979 in Mexico.
