After losing an injunction against the production of independent activities, NJZ members, former Newjeans, pronounce; look!
On Friday, 21, it was released by the South Korean Court that the former NJZ members, former Newjeans, lost the injunction requested by the ador to ban Quintet independent activities, justified in order to “preserve the status of the agency and prohibit the signing of advertising contracts”, as the contractual dispute between the parties is still underway. Thus, members came to public comment on the decision.
The NJZ published an official statement, in Korean and English, through the official Instagram account created by parents of the members for a case reaching the case, in which they claimed to respect the court’s decision, but noting that they did not fully consider the breach of confidence between them and the ador.
According to the statement, the urgency of the process limited the possibility of presenting all the information they considered relevant to the court. In addition, the quintet mentioned a “information imbalance”, as producers, ador and hybe, had full access to data on the group’s activities, while the members had to seek individual information under the pressure of a legal process and “fear of retaliation”.
The members also announced that they intend to contest the decision through an objection procedure, in which they will present new evidence and legal arguments. They also emphasized that, until the time of contract termination, all fulfilled their obligations in a diligent way and without irregularities. However, according to them, the company treated them “unfair and unequal”, undermining the relationship of trust between both parties. “It’s just a matter of time until the truth becomes clear,” they said.
Comforting fans concerned with recent decisions, the group also stressed that the injunction is a provisional decision and that a main proceedings, which will determine the validity of the termination of exclusive contracts, is already underway, with an audience scheduled for April 3.
Still in the statement, Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin and Hyein They stated that, regardless of financial issues, they will not go under the administration of a company that “disregarded their identities and undermined their achievements.” Members stressed that the judicial process aims to protect their rights.
Despite the legal dispute, NJZ has confirmed that it will continue with its participation in Complexcon, scheduled for March 23rd. The group ended the statement asking for continuous support to fans and ensuring that it will continue to fight to preserve their artistic identity and professional freedom.

“Hello, here is NJZ.
Today, the court issued a decision on the injunction. The NJZ respects the decision of the Court. However, we believe that the decision did not fully take into account the complete breach of confidence that members experienced in relation to the ador.
Due to the urgent nature of the injunction procedures, the decision was issued approximately two weeks after the hearing of 7 March 2025. As such, we did not have enough opportunity to fully present the factual context to the Court. In addition, due to an information imbalance, the ador and Hybe have full access to all information about membership entertainment activities, while the limbs have been forced to contact them individually with the relevant parts to request information. The pressure of being involved in a lawsuit, along with the fear of retaliation, also prevented much from cooperating.
We plan to contest today’s decision through the objection procedure, during which we will raise additional legal issues and present more support. Above all, until the time when the exclusivity contracts were terminated, we diligently fulfill the obligations without any irregularity. In contrast, Ador and Hybe, behind the scenes, continued to treat us unfairly and unevenly, destroying the relationship of trust. It is just a matter of time until the truth becomes clear.
It is important to note that the injunction is a provisional measure. A separated main proceedings on the validity of the exclusive contract termination is underway, with an audience scheduled for April 3. Unlike precautionary processes, the main process allows us to freely use civil procedure tools to collect the necessary evidence. We foresee that this will greatly reinforce our claims.
Although we are going through a very difficult time, we remain calm and strong, always thinking of our fans who continue to support NJZ and Bunnies. NJZ values your promise with fans above all, and we will dedicate ourselves to the remaining legal process so that we can once again connect with you with genuine joy.
As we claim first, regardless of any financial issues, we can no longer remain with an administration that disrespected our identities and undermined our achievements. The reason we are seeking this legal action is to protect our dignity and rights.
Meanwhile, after a lot of deliberation, we decided to participate in the next complexcon scheduled for March 23. This decision was made out of respect for our fans and all stakeholders involved in order to avoid unnecessary interruptions or damage to those who were eager for the presentation.
We sincerely ask for your support and continuous encouragement as we advance. “
The case is still underway.
