Appearing in April 1964 through Marvel Comic magazine “Daredevil #1”, Daredevil was created by some of the biggest names in the comic book publisher: Stan Leeand Bill Everettwith the collaboration of Jack Kirby.
Initially, the character had been developed in order to have less dark stories and similar to Spider-Man, but the initiative ended up not working very well. In 2015, the hero won the small screen by being adapted by Netflix with the series “Daredevil”, starring the actor Charlie Cox. Although the production was a huge success, it was canceled after just one season. In an interview with the “Marvel News Desk” podcast (via Tecmundo), Vincent d’Onofrio, the interpreter of the character King of Crime on the show, revealed that the reason for the cancellation was the arrival of Disney+, Disney’s official streaming platform that owns Marvel’s production rights.
“We understood what Marvel was doing because Disney+ was released … When you have been in this business for so long, as all of us had made sense in terms of business. It made sense to us because we would not continue with the series or the idea of how it worked, ”he said. “I think we were disappointed, but I think we all understand what was happening and it was inevitable. In this business, you learn to accept things because you know that in the end it’s a business and there is nothing you can really do about it. ”
Fortunately, after incessant fan requests, the studio listened to the admirers’ requests and confirmed the production of a sequel to the series. Titled “Daredevil: Reborn”, the new release will be set after the events of the 2015 series.

The first two episodes of the series are now available on the Disney+streaming platform, with the return of Charlie Cox in the role of Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Vincent D’Onofrio Living Wilson Fisk/King of Crime, Deborah Ann Woll coming back as Karen Page, Elden Henson Again as Foggy Nelson and Jon Bernthal like Frank Castle/Punisher.
In addition, the cast also has new names. Among them, we have: Margarita Levieva (ATTA), Sandrine Holt (Better Call Saul), Michael Gandolfini (The Deuce), Arty Sinkshan (Carnival Row) and Lou Taylor Pucci (The death of the demon).
The official synopsis of “Daredevil: Reborn” says: “Matt Murdock, a blind lawyer with improved capabilities, struggles for justice through his popular firm of lawyers, while the former mafia leader Wilson Fisk pursues his own political goals in New York. When the past identities of both begin to emerge, the two men end in an inevitable collision route.”
