EXO’s Xiumin company issues a statement claiming that SM Entertainment is preventing the idol from promoting his new album in music programs
A new controversy involving SM Entertainment took the net on Tuesday, March 4, after theXiuminmember of EXO, issue an official statement stating that the artist is being prevented from presenting himself on KBS’s music program “Music Bank”, due to in progress negotiations between the broadcaster and the Big 3 company of K-Pop.
According to One Hundred Label, which controls INB100, KBS has not responded to the agency’s communication attempts, making it difficult for the singer to participate in the program, despite efforts to ensure his presence in music programs to promote the long -awaited Comeback.
The company said the station claimed, in an unofficial way, that it would be impossible for Xiumin Participate in “Music Bank” due to the presence of SM Entertainment artists in the program, making One Hundred Label consider the decision unfair, as it does not involve musical or performance factors, but rather issues related to business negotiations. The agency also stressed that this situation creates a future concern, in which artists could be harmed whenever there are promotions of albums by other artists of the great label.

Hello, here is a hundred.
We would like to inform you about an important subject about the appearances of artists of our label on KBS programs.
Xiumin, an Inb100 artist, is expected to release his solo album “Interview X” on March 10, marking his first solo return in two years and six months.
Since this is a long -awaited solo return, our team has made continuous efforts to mark meetings with various transmission stations so that Xiumin could show great performance to his fans. However, KBS did not respond and did not return our attempts to make contact.
We have recently been informed not officially by KBS that it would be impossible for Xiumin to appear on programs [da KBS] who present SM Entertainment artists, including KBS2’s “Music Bank”.
This reasoning was hard to understand, but to this day we continually try to communicate with KBS to encourage them to prioritize the artist and their fans. Unfortunately, our attempts were ignored.
We believe this situation reflects a case in which a public broadcasting station is blocking an artist’s meeting with fans – not due to musical factors or any other factors [razoáveis]but based on your negotiations with a specific entertainment company.
If this type of unfair treatment continues, our artists will be placed in a situation where they will not be able to promote in music shows whenever SM Entertainment artists have ongoing album promotions.
We consider it deeply unfair that KBS, a public broadcasting company, made that decision based only on the position of a company. Despite our greatest efforts to solve this subject, we regret having to give such disappointing news to fans.
Regarding KBS, which not only damaged Xiumin’s appearance, but also made it difficult for other artists to appear in “Music Bank”, our company will continue to strive to be fair and do its best to prevent artists from being harmed by such unfair practices.
Although Xiumin’s appearance at KBS is currently impossible, we will not give up for the sake of our artists and fans. In addition, we promise to create even better opportunities for Xiumin to show their performances and create significant memories with fans through alternative events.
Once again, we are sincere apologies for disappointing our artist and fans. We will continue to strive to correct unfair industry practices and continue to be a company that really prioritizes its artists.
Thanks.
In response, KBS has denied the company’s allegations, calling them “completely unfounded”, and clarifying that the production team of “Music Bank” is in continuous contact with the idol agency, ensuring that communication between the parts is still open.
After two years and six months of his latest release as a soloist,Xiumin Do your Comeback next Monday, 10, with “Interview X”.
