Created by Rick Riordan, the Percy Jackson franchise will win a new series on Disney +
The unreleased series inspired by the Percy Jackson universe has been highly anticipated by fans, especially after the two films released in 2010 and 2013 were not very well accepted by the community. Now, the new production carried out by Disney+ will feature the author of the saga, Rick Riordanin the creation of the plot — which has already won its first spoilers released by the writer himself.
On its official blog, Riordan revealed some behind the scenes videos, as well as commenting on the design of the series, and how the entire pre-production process is going.
“The work on the script has been going well. We have scripts pretty much ready for our first four episodes, and we’re still going to work hard on the remaining four of the first season,” said the author.
In your most recent post, Rick also wrote about the casting search, where he revealed that the team is close to finding the actors who will be responsible for playing the protagonist trio: Percy, Annabeth and Grover.
“Cast—yes, I know that’s what you want to hear about. I think we’re very close to having our core trio of Percy, Grover and Annabeth, but I can’t announce anything until we have all the necessary approvals, deals closed, etc.”
Riordan also took advantage of the publication to demand patience from fans, and ask them not to fill the series’ producers’ social networks asking for news. “Please do not pester Ashlee or Becky on social media. Ashlee doesn’t know any more than you do, and Becky can’t say any more than I do. As soon as we can say anything, we will, but asking for news more often will not make the news magically appear or faster.”
So far, the new Percy Jackson series still doesn’t have a release date.
