La Tarumba has announced the return of their circus to continue the tradition of every patriotic month and they welcome “Eternal”. With this title of the new show for the 2022 season, they aim to evoke emotions such as hope, joy and illusion for an audience that, today more than ever, needs to dream again, needs to laugh again.
FROM “Eternal” -like many Peruvians during the pandemic- Tarumba think about what is valuable in this life; so he proposes to return to the essential. Actors, musicians, costume designers, lighting designers, sound engineers, producers, managers, they all put their talent and effort into the service of creation, which helps us heal the wounds left by the pandemic.
“As an artistic collective – and as a Peruvian society – we have the ability to overcome ourselves… and here we are! Eterno is inspired by people’s hearts and their connection to the circus, a connection that makes us feel that we are together, but above all that we are alive, that we exist,” commented Fernando Zevallos, Founder and Artistic Director of the People’s Circus.
“Eternal” It will feature a group of musicians “La Digna” led by Chebo Ballumbrosio who will make the audience vibrate with a combination of Peruvian and circus music using instruments such as trumpet, violin and saxophone; Thus, between the songs of zamakueki, landau, marinera and waltz, as well as aerial gymnastics, juggling, balance and humor, the circus invites you to merge in a warm embrace and celebrate life together.
This year, the show is seen as an opportunity to give back to people what they have given them in these 38 years: their permanent choice. La Tarumba invites us to meet again and awaken joy in a magical, healing and gentle space so that every Peruvian, young or old, can grow, learn and be happy.
