EXO fans will have to patiently wait for the group’s new comeback! That’s because, in a recent interview for his next film, “Secret: Untold Melody”, the actor and member of the lineup, DOrevealed that nonet will not meet this year, as reported by the Koreaboo portal.
It is worth remembering that EXO’s most recent return took place in July 2023, with the seventh full-album “EXIST”, which did not feature the participation of Lay and there was no Kaiduring promotional actions, as the idol began military enlistment, mandatory for South Korean men, on May 11 of the same year. So, when DO was asked if the group could be seen together soon, he gave a positive answer by stating that they were preparing to launch a new project, but that it would not be released within the next 12 months.
“We will start preparing and you will be able to see us, so there is no need to worry. […] Not this year right away, but you will be able to find us as soon as possible. We will start preparing this year after taking everyone’s individual schedules into account,” he declared.
Before that, in August last year, during a concert on his solo tour, ‘2024 SUHO CONCERT SU:HOME’, in Jakarta, Indonesia, Suholeader of EXO, had already guaranteed that a group meeting will take place when Kai and Sehun — who began military enlistment on December 21, 2023 — are released from their army obligations.
“When I return home, I will tell the EXO members that their energy is amazing. We will meet as soon as possible, together with Sehun and Kai. Please wait a little longer, okay? I love you. I promise,” said the idol at one point during the show.
Kai and Sehun must complete service in the South Korean Armed Forces in February and September 2025, respectively.
