Minnie, from (G)I-DLE, comments on the group’s contract renewal and the release of her solo album, ‘HER’ in a recent interview; look!
The (G)I-DLE contract renewal has been a widely discussed topic since the end of 2024, especially after the declarations of Sonyeon in a podcast, where she shared her perspectives on the group’s future. On January 20th, it was the turn of Minniea member of the group, spoke openly about the subject in an interview with Cube Entertainment, in which he also discussed the release of his solo mini-album, ‘HER’.
During the conversation, Minnie revealed that the contract renewal process was not simple, but that, throughout the conversations with the other members, it became clear that they were aligned in their decisions. She shared that the renewal process brought a sense of closeness among the members and helped them solidify their decision to move forward as a team.
“We always have the same mentality: to stay together for a long time and make the music we love. We discussed how to stay together and get closer to last longer as a group. During the contract renewal process, we had a lot of honest conversations, which helped us It helped bring us even closer”, said the singer.
The artist also reflected on the impact of these seven years of her career with (G)I-DLE, stating that these experiences were fundamental to her personal and artistic growth, revealing that her new solo album was inspired by these moments and feelings accumulated throughout of the group’s trajectory.”The seven years I spent as (G)I-DLE are very precious to me. I managed to grow while promoting with the members and found myself a lot through these experiences”, he said.
Minnie also shared his concern about fans’ expectations regarding his solo album, stating that he did not want to disappoint them.
“I have become greedy and have a strong desire to do everything I want to do. This is my first solo album and the first album to be released after my contract renewal, so I will show my best so that the fans don’t be disappointed,” he explained.
The (G)I-DLE member also confessed that she actively sought out fans’ reactions to the renewal, saying she was moved to see many fans relieved and happy with the group’s decision to remain together. “I saw that many fans cried, and most were happy and relieved that we decided to be together,” she said, demonstrating the connection and mutual affection between the group and fans.
CUBE Entertainment reported that (G)I-DLE renewed their exclusive contract with the company on December 1st, which had already been announced by the members at the 2024 Melon Music Awards.
Thus, the group’s future looks increasingly promising, with Minnie, Soyeon, Yuqi, Miyeon and Shuhua focused on continuing to explore new possibilities and fulfill the dreams they collectively share.
