Discover why the choice of a remix of a Korean children’s song in ‘Round 6’ went viral internationally, according to the director

The global phenomenon ‘Round 6’ continues to dominate the world of entertainment, and its 2nd season couldn’t be any different. Released on December 26, the series quickly established itself as a smash hit, reaching the top of the Netflix charts and being acclaimed by critics and fans around the world.

Among the many highlights of the new season, one scene in particular caught attention: the Korean children’s melody “Round and Round” (Donggeulge Donggeulge), which plays during one of the tense disputes between the game’s participants. Originally a simple and upbeat song, it was remixed into an EDM style, gaining new life on international nightclub stages.

A viral video on the TikTok platform, showing a crowd dancing to the remix in a club, further amplified the impact of the song, now converted into an energetic dancefloor anthem. The DJ responsible for the French version of the remix creatively used the melody to transform the atmosphere, capturing the attention of a global audience and making “Round and Round” an unexpected hit off-screen.

To increase the impact, Jung Jae Il added mechanical sounds to the music, seeking to innovate the audience’s immersion: “We wanted to go beyond simply using familiar music. The goal was to try something innovative.”

Additionally, he shared details about other tracks from the season, including “To You” by Shin Hae Chuland “Nessun Dorma”, by Pucciniwhich helped convey a sense of warmth, even in the midst of tragedy.
