In a recent interview, TOP, a former member of BIGBANG, revealed whether he plans to release new songs as a soloist
After 11 years, the actor and singer Choi Seung-hyunthe TOPdecided to return to giving interviews to the South Korean media, especially after the success of his character Thanos in the Netflix series “Round 6”.
During conversations with different vehicles, in addition to commenting on his participation in the K-drama, the star also reflected on old controversies in his life, his departure from the boy group BIGBANG and his current relationship with the group’s members, in addition to commenting on future your career plans.
In one of the interviews, TOP shared that, in the last seven years, since his drug abuse controversy in 2017, he lived “almost isolated from society”, and that he used this time to create countless songs as an escape valve for the dark period he was going through.
“For the past seven years, I have lived almost isolated from society, spending most of my time at home and in my music studio. So I kept working on music in the dark and the reason I did that was for no other reason but because music was the only place I could breathe when I was writing music and standing in front of the microphone. I think I made music to survive”, said the rapper.
Seung-hyun highlights that music served as a form of healing for him, and that he intends to share it with fans soon: “I’ve written a countless number of songs, just listening to my own dark heart and inner turmoil. I wanted to heal through music and I want to share this music with my fans in some way.”
Despite confirming that he will release new songs, TOP He warned that he will not return with the same intensity as before: “My main objective is to establish a stable and less dramatic life. […] I want to get to a point where I can wake up without being bombarded by negative news and feel more at peace.”
