During Super Junior’s performance at SMTOWN LIVE 2025, Eunhyuk’s speech caught the attention of fans on social media
Last weekend, SMTOWN LIVE 2025 took place in Seoul, South Korea, a two-day event celebrating 30 years of SM Entertainment, one of the country’s main entertainment companies, home to some of the biggest idols in k-pop of history.
Despite being a great celebration of the agency’s three decades, the party was surrounded by a series of controversies, including the absence of great artists, such as Taeyeonleader of Girls’ Generation, and Wendymember of Red Velvet.
Second Taeyeonshe would have decided not to participate in the presentations, as “there is no good conversation between the company and me”, also revealing that “they didn’t help me prepare, so I couldn’t do anything”. In the case of WendySM only said that the artist could not attend for “personal reasons”.
In recent times, the agency has also been the target of a series of criticisms from fans, due to poor management of its artists, according to admirers. The subject returned to the agenda on social media after the second day of SMTOWN LIVE, when Eunhyukfrom Super Junior, sent a small “shade” to the company on stage at the event.
On that occasion, while the group members talked and played, Eunhyukwho is no longer part of SM Entertainment, but is now on ODE.en, took the opportunity to say that he will soon release his first solo album of his career, 20 years after his debut with Super Junior, highlighting that the release will not happen under the SM label.
“It’s been 20 years, and I’m finally releasing my first solo album! Guys, if we are a real family, please buy an album for me. This album will not be released by SM Entertainment,” said the artist.
