Los Angeles Palisades Charter High School, famous for being a setting for popular films and series, was seriously affected by the wildfires that have been affecting the city in the state of California since January 7th. Known for being a reference point in pop culture, the school was the setting for classics such as ‘Carrie’ (1976), ‘Freaky Friday’ (2003) and the series ‘Teen Wolf’ (MTV), in addition to being stage for the music video for ‘Good 4 U’, by Olivia Rodrigo.
Located in the Pacific Palisades and Brentwood neighborhoods, renowned areas among Hollywood celebrities, the institution is also famous for its long list of prominent alumni, such as filmmakers JJ Abramsthe actor Forest Whitakerthe musician Will.I.Am and the actress Jennifer Jason Leigh.
According to Business Insider, the fire on Tuesday the 7th affected several areas of the city, and Palisades High School, which was about to start the new school term next week, suffered significant damage. Although the main school building remained standing, several facilities, such as the sports center and some bungalow structures, were damaged.

The school had already prepared for the return of students, but the fire forced the rapid evacuation of staff and athletes who were present at the site. Furthermore, although the sequel to ‘Freaky Friday’ has been announced, it is not yet known whether the school is part of the new film.
The fires also affected other city landmarks, such as the Pasadena synagogue and the Bunny Museum, and caused significant damage to the homes of several Hollywood figures. The actor Billy Crystalfor example, confirmed the loss of his home of 46 years in the disaster, in addition to Miles Teller, actor known for his roles in the series ‘Divergent’ and the film ‘Top Gun’, who also lost his recently purchased home in the region.
