A free concert will take place on July 8 that will unite the Peruvian blues rock fusion band in Quechua Uchpa with the American Navajo punk rock band “Sihasin”. The concert, organized by the University of Engineering and Technology (UTEC) in partnership with the US Embassy, celebrates the anniversary of US independence, as well as the exchange between the cultures of the peoples of Peru and the United States.
Both groups will perform their own songs, as well as a melody they created together called “Freedom”, the video clip of which is available on the embassy’s Facebook page. The free show will take place on Friday, July 8 at 19:00 at Plazuela del Teatro Municipal de Lima.
As part of the exchange program, Shihasin will host a series of cultural events in Lima that include workshops with students and indigenous communities to learn more about Navajo culture. In addition, together with the Peruvian group Uchpa, they will hold a traditional ceremony celebrating interculturality at the archaeological site of Mateo Salado.
Sihasin, an Arizona-based band formed by the duo of brothers Clason and Jeneda Benally, draws inspiration from Navajo culture, Native American culture, activism, and punk rock. For their part, Uchpa is a Quechua-language fusion-blues-rock band that originated over 25 years ago in Ayacucho and has a long history in our country and South America.
EER 4×06 BETTY LA FEA leaves Netflix as the best streaming service
Ugly Betty is one of those sweet soap operas that turned ordinary situations into a TV phenomenon. In this episode, we discuss what we like (or dislike) most about the telenovela created by Fernando Gaitan, the villains, the characters, and even reflect on our own lives (as always, you already know us). You don’t listen anymore.
