ARRIVING! The prestigious animation, “Flow”, received a release date in Brazil after much waiting. The film, which was nominated by the main world cinema awards (Golden Globe, Critics Choice Awards and Oscar) is scheduled for arrive in Brazilian cinemas on January 30th.
Directed by the Latvian director, Gints Zilbalodis, The non-speaking plot follows the journey of a lonely cat who, after having his home destroyed by a huge flood, finds refuge on a boat inhabited by several species, including a dog, a heron, a capybara and a lemur. Together, they navigate mystical landscapes, facing challenges and dangers as they learn to overcome their differences and adapt to a changed world.

Winning last Sunday, the 5th, in the “Best Animation” category, at the 82nd edition of the Golden Globes, “Flow” consolidates itself as a direct competitor to “Inside Out 2”, “Moana 2” and “Robô Selvagem” in the dispute for golden Oscar statuette, which, in December, released the pre-list of possible nominees for the “Best International Film” category, and which includes the animation for its production coming from Latvia, thus being yet another category in which the plot competes, competing for a final spot for nomination with five more foreign productions.
Proving to be one of the most acclaimed and prestigious features of the last year, the 3D animation has also won four awards at the most prestigious animation festival in the world, Annecy, as well as winning the Best Animated Film category at the New York Film Critics Circle Awards, European Film Awards and Guadalajara International Film Festival, among many others.
The long-awaited animated feature, “Flow”, arrives in Brazil and is distributed by Mares/Alpha Filmes from January 30th.
