Although they did not provide details about the cause of his death, McGowan said goodbye to his client, assuring that he was a great friend and would remember him fondly. Similarly, Michael Imperioli, Sirico’s acting partner in the aforementioned production, shared the sad news.
“Tony was like no other: he was as cool, as loyal and as generous as anyone I have ever met. I was with him in many things: good and bad. But mostly good ones. And we laughed a lot,” she wrote.
Tony Sirico was born in Brooklyn and has appeared in various films such as The Goodfellas, The Mighty Aphrodite and Mickey Blue Eyes. However, he became best known for his participation in The Sopranos as “Pauly Walnut”.
When he offered an interview a few years ago, he recalled sleeping on his mother’s couch, he felt like he wasn’t successful, but he was approached by creator David Chase and from that moment on he became a cult character.
Another loss for the Sopranos
Paul Germanknown for his roles in movies like The Goodfellas and TV shows like The Sopranos, has died at the age of 76, his professional partner Michael Imperioli revealed on Instagram.
“Our friend and colleague Paul Herman has passed away,” Imperioli wrote, describing him in the same publication as “a great guy, a top-notch storyteller and a great actor.” So far, the cause of death of this New York translator has not been established.
Herman (Brooklyn, 1946) also appeared in other notable films such as Once Upon a Time in America (1984), along with Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci, among others.
However, his most famous role was that of Peter “Binsey” Gaeta in The Sopranos, a series that became popular in the early 21st century in which he shared a cast with Imperioli himself.
In it, Herman embodied the character of Binsey, a drug dealer with close ties to the DiMeo mafia family who captivated much of the Sopranos’ audience.
