The actress will be awarded the Golden Bear award at the 2025 Berlin Film Festival for her significant contribution to world cinema.
Scottish actress Tilda Swinton will receive the Golden Bear award for lifetime achievement at the 2025 Berlin International Film Festival. This was reported by the Berlinale press service.
The award ceremony will take place on February 13, 2025 during the festival’s grand opening.
“Tilda Swinton’s body of work is amazing. She brings so much humanity, compassion, intelligence, humor and style to cinema. She expands our understanding of the world with her work. Tilda is one of our icons of modern cinema. He has long been a part of the Berlinale family, we are delighted to present him with this Golden Bear honor,” said festival director Tricia Tuttle.
Tilda Swinton’s film career began in 1985 with Derek Jarman films such as A Parting Look at England and Edward II. For her role in the film Michael Clayton, she received a BAFTA and an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress.
Among the most famous films that the actress participated in are Orlando, Constantine, The Chronicles of Narnia, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Moonrise Kingdom, Only Lovers Left Alive, The Grand Budapest Hotel and Doctor Strange.
It was previously reported that Christopher Nolan is working on a large-scale film adaptation of Homer’s Odyssey.
