On the cover of the magazine’s special holiday issue HE: This week, the Italian actress talks about her daughters and is glad she had them late to better care for them at the end of her rich film career.
“Madonna!” It’s a shout-out to iconic actress Monica Bellucci, who has starred in more than 68 films to date HE: and, commenting on all the publications in which she was highlighted, the 60-year-old actress cannot help but think about her two daughters (born from the union with Vincent Cassel), who borrow in one way or another; the same professional path as their mother.
“Back then, I wasn’t as professional as he was.”
Leonie, the youngest of the Bellucci-Cassel siblings, who lives in Paris with her mother, is actually preparing hard for her future at college. Already at age 14, she has expressed her “artistic sensibility,” says Monica Bellucci. As for Deva, her eldest, she started her career as a model and actress very early. “At 20, she’s full of enthusiasm, but she’s been working since she was 16, she took time to mature,” says Monica Bellucci, who doesn’t hide her pride. “He slowly worked his way up, passed his bachelor’s degree, speaks five languages… I wasn’t as professional as he was then,” he admits.
Reverse the empty nest syndrome
Now geographically separated from her daughter Deva, who is now working internationally, Monica Bellucci assures her: “I am happy to see that he is passionate about what he does. And we meet very often in France or Italy, at my mother’s house,” he says. I need to see him in the eyes and hold him in my arms, videos are not enough. Of course, there is something nostalgic when the three of us find ourselves at home.
In order not to lose sight of her body, the actress explains that she made a big decision. “Fortunately, I had my girls late, I decided to work less to take time to see them grow,” she says. “Today Deva flies… And it’s beautiful, isn’t it, when our children fly?”
