Who are the characters in the Inside Out series?

The mini-series “Produção de Sonhos”, derived from the “Inside Out” franchise, is already in the Disney+ catalogue. The plot shows behind the scenes of the place where Riley’s dreams are built, bringing testimonials from employees in a mockumentary style, a genre in which a fictional production is produced following the same characteristics as a real documentary.

Paula Persimmon is Riley’s dream director. She has held the role for around a decade, as she took on the role when the girl was 3 years old. In the original dubbing, the character is given a voice by the American actress, comedian and writer Paula Pellknown for having written for Saturday Night Live between 1995 and 1996.

She follows the orders of the character voiced by Maya Rudolph (Mission Godmother of Wedding), Jean Dewberry, who is the head of Dream Production, a figure who also exercises superiority over:

• Janelle, a production assistant voiced by the actress Ally Mack;
• Zak, the comedy director who is responsible for Riley’s happy, hilarious, joyful dreams;
• Sheng, the action director who is voiced by Matt Yang King;
• Gigi, the nightmare director;
• Xeni, the director of waking dreams who Richard Ayoade is responsible for dubbing.

In addition to the new figures, some old acquaintances are back. They are:

• Joy, Riley’s central emotion in Inside Out officially voiced by Amy Poehler and Mia Mello in national dubbing;
• Sadness, which receives the voice of Phyllis Smith and Katiuscia Canoro;
• Anger, from LewisBlack and Leo Jaime;
• Disgusting, whose tone is given by Liza Lapira and Dani Calabresa;
• Fear of Tony Hale and Octavian Costa.

“Production of Dreams” is a creation of Mike Jones and officially premiered on December 11, 2024 and is set between the first and second “Inside Out” films, which were released under the Disney and Pixar label in 2015 and 2024.
