Discover what it was like when RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook, from BTS, lent their voices to Disney characters
In the world of dubbing, it is not uncommon to find celebrities who end up being cast to voice characters in cartoons, films and series, giving the public that feeling of having heard that vocal timbre before somewhere.
One of the most notable examples of studios that like to carry out this crossover between characters and celebrities is Disney. In Brazil, for example, the presenter, actor and comedian Fábio Porchatbecame responsible for voicing Olaf, in ‘Frozen: A Freezing Adventure’, while the artist Zeze Motta lent her incredible voice to the villain of ‘The Little Mermaid’, Ursula.
Still, did you know that the members of BTS have been able to voice some of the most iconic characters from Mickey Mouse?

Calm! The dubbing wasn’t official, but it’s still really fun! It turns out that, in episode 109 of the 2020 variety show ‘Run BTS!’, the septet was able to vocally perform scenes from the label’s major animated films, namely ‘The Lion King’, ‘Toy Story’ and ‘Zootopia’.
In ‘The Lion King’J-Hope voiced the great antagonist, Scar, while Jimin, Jin and RM they voiced the hyena trio Shenzi, Banzai and Ed, respectively. It is worth remembering that the film was released in 1994 to follow the journey of Simba as a cub, after losing his father, Mufasa, in a tragic way and orchestrated by his uncle, Scar, ends up going into exile away from the Pride Lands until adulthood, when returns to take his place as King of the Jungle.
As for the scene from ‘Toy Story’ (1995), a feature film from the Pixar label that follows Andy’s dolls coming to life when humans are not around, Suga it was Woody, V voiced Buzz Lightyear and Jimin returned for another role: the dinosaur Rex.
Finally, there is ‘Zootopia’, a 2016 animation that follows the rabbit Judy Hopps, who, after becoming a police officer, ends up discovering a major crime that can only be solved with the unexpected help of a criminal fox, Nick Wild. In the episode, the protagonist received the voice of Jiminwhile Jin voiced Nick and Jungkook it was Flash, one of the sloths from the DVM (Department of Mammal Vehicles).

Even though it was a big joke, Some members’ performances ended up standing out, one of them being Jimin! This is because, while voicing Judy, the idol managed to perfectly convey the essence and emotions of the character, leading him to be praised by the members, by the dubbing teacher who accompanied them during the recording and by the fans.
However, a compliment that appeared on social media also gained special space. It turns out that the co-director and co-writer behind ‘Zootopia,’ Jared Bushused X (formerly Twitter), to praise the vocal work of Jimin and suggest a possible future partnership. He wrote:
“I’m super… impressed… with you… Jimin… your portrayal… of Judy… is perfect. When can we… work together?! @BTS_twt (and thanks @BUSANBOY___TWT for the link!).”
Since then, fans have been waiting for a special moment for the idol or the entire group to participate in a dubbing project. Although it didn’t happen, Disney worked with the septet on several other projects, the most recent being the documentary ‘BTS Monuments: Beyond The Star’ and the reality show ‘Are You Sure?!’, starring Jimin and Jungkook.
