During CCXP24, producers of the feature film “Chico Bento e a Goiabeira Maraviosa” confirm that the plot will get a sequel
SEQUENCE! Through CCXP24’s Thunder Stage, which took place this Friday, 6th, producer Mauricio de Sousa Produções confirmed a continuation for the film featuring the character Chico Bento, from Turma da Mônica, revealing that the film should begin production in 2025, but without giving any more details about the title or plot.
The live-action ‘Chico Bento e a Goiabeira Maraviosa’, inspired by beloved comic book characters, opens in Brazilian cinemas on January 9th, and brings Isaac Peanut as the title character, and is directed by Fernando Fraiha and Marcos Saraiva.
In addition to Isaac the cast has Pedro Dantas (Zé Lelé), Anna Julia Dias (Rosinha), Guilherme Tavares (Zé da Roça), David Okabe (Hiro) and Lthereindeer de Oliveira (Tábata). The directors Fernando and Frames will also be present.
The film tells the story of Chico Bento trying to convince Nhô Lau not to cut down the only guava tree in the region where he lives, put at risk by Colonel Dotô Agripino and Genesinho, his spoiled son. So, Chico joins his group to preserve the tree and the nature that surrounds it.

Another novelty revealed at the event by the production team was that the “Horário” film already has its director. Carlos SaldanhaBrazilian director known globally for the success of the film ‘Rio’, takes the lead in the new animation, revealed at CCXP23 by himself Mauricio de Souza and will tell the story of the friendly dinosaur (Via UOL).
The script is already being prepared, the director of the feature film, who despite confirming that it will be released in theaters, has not yet revealed the release date and other details.
