This Thursday, 5th, ADOR, a subsidiary company of HYBE Corporation, published an official statement informing that they are taking legal action against Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin and Hyeinfrom the girl group NewJeans.

Recently, the quintet announced at a press conference the termination of the exclusive contract they had with the company, following allegations of mismanagement, lack of protection and reported rectification.

ADOR announced the action to confirm the validation of the exclusive contract with the group, and that despite the circumstances, the company reinforced that it would like to dialogue with the members, which has not yet been possible.

Check out the announcement!

“Hello, this is ADOR. On December 3rd, we filed a lawsuit to receive legal confirmation that our exclusive contract with NewJeans is still valid.

Although we did not want this issue to be resolved through a legal trial, we decided because we felt it was necessary to confirm to the artists that the contract cannot be terminated based on one party’s claim.

Above all, we wanted to welcome the court’s judgment to protect the foundation of the K-Pop industry and Korean pop culture, which was built on trust between artists and companies.

K-Pop today was created from the artist’s talent and efforts and the company’s investment and know-how. In uncertain circumstances, it is essential that company support is provided in advance for a long time, especially in the K-Pop industry.

ADOR’s position on working with NewJeans remains unchanged. In addition to seeking judgment on the validity of the contract, we believe that candid discussions with members are necessary.

Despite our repeated requests, we have not yet had a chance to speak to the artists. We will continue to resolve misunderstandings between artists and the company. We will do our best to give back to the fans by providing better activities. We ask for your support so that we can overcome this problem.”
