Ukrainian actor played George Clooney’s spy thriller

Ukrainian actor Alexander Rudinsky played in the serial spy thriller The Agency, produced by George Clooney.

The series premiered on November 29 on the Paramount+ platform. In the film, which covers complex geopolitical events, Rudinsky played the role of Ukrainian military man Sasha Butenko.

His hero works under the guise of a doctor both in the territories controlled and occupied by Ukraine. The artist admitted that this image was a challenge for him, because he sought to convey the realities of modern warfare as accurately as possible. To prepare for the role, the actor underwent a week of intensive training in London under the guidance of ex-military personnel.

“My agent told me about the casting. First, I went through several rounds of self-tests, and then there was a Zoom meeting with the director. Time was concerned. There were many organizational issues but in general, I was happy with this opportunity,” Rudinsky shared in an interview with Harpers Bazaar.

Although George Clooney did not visit the set, Rudinsky had the opportunity to meet his famous colleagues, including Richard Gere, who played one of the main roles.

The series was directed by Philip Martin and Joe Wright, and world cinema stars such as Jeffrey Wright and Michael Fasbender joined the cast.

“The most important thing for me is the theme of Ukraine, which runs consecutively throughout the plot My character is part of this line, especially in the second, third, ninth and tenth stages do an act about which, Apparently, all Ukrainians dream I would like this to happen not only in movies, but also in real life,” the actor noted.

Alexander Rudinsky will appear in the second, third, ninth and tenth episodes, his role promises to be the key for the development of events in the series.
