Find out which character has the possibility of returning for the final episodes of “Stranger Things”, which are expected to debut in 2025
The fifth and final season of “Stranger Things” promises to be surprising — and, among the surprises, it is possible that a character who has already died will return for the final events of the series, namely Dr. Martin Brenner, the head of Hawkins Laboratory!
That’s because, in an interview with Vulture (via ComicBook), the actor Matthew Modinewho plays Brenner, hinted that the character could return in the new episodes, as the scientist, called Papa by Eleven, has already avoided death in other situations seen in the series.
“I wouldn’t want him to die,” Modine began. “Three things are curious to me: How he [Brenner] Survived the Demogorgon? How did he survive the One? And when Eleven tries to use her power against Dr. Brenner after blasting three guards into the air, he foils her without hesitation and says, “You didn’t think it would be that easy, did you?” She couldn’t make it work on him. Is there more to Brenner than meets the eye?”
It is worth remembering that, in the eighth episode of part 2 of the fourth season, Brenner is injured during a military attack and, between life and death, is abandoned in the desert, without receiving forgiveness from Eleven.
On another occasion, Modine it also raised suspicions about the character’s fate. In an interview with RadioTimes at the beginning of the year, he asked with a smile: “he [Brenner] is it dead? I don’t know…”, before revealing that he would like to return to the role.
“I love Millie Bobby Brown, I love [os criadores] Duffer brothers, the [produtor e diretor] Shawn Levy, and it was a wonderful show to work on. I had fun every day I worked on the series. I hope there is a way to resurrect Dr. Brenner and put him in season five, because it would be wonderful to be a part of the final season.”
Furthermore, when asked how the character could come back to life, the actor replied: “Well, we didn’t actually see him dead — he was just lying there in the dirt. He survived the Demogorgon and Vecna in the first episode of the fourth season, while the children died….”
The fifth season of “Stranger Things” is expected to debut in the Netflix catalog in 2025, but the official date has not yet been confirmed. The four previous seasons are now available in the catalogue.
