Wisin y Yandel, the self-proclaimed “history duo” of reggaeton, will receive the “Agent of Change” award on July 21st at Premios Juventud 2022 in San Juan for their support of the Hispanic community and contribution to music.
As event organizers explained in a statement on Wednesday, “Both artists are known for using their public figures to promote change in the Hispanic community and the world by contributing to music and humanitarian social causes.”
The iconic reggaeton duo also has three nominations on this edition Youth Awardswhich will take place at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José M. Agrelot in San Juan, including Banda or the favorite duo of the year.
The show organizers also announced that a group of singers including Puerto Ricans Michael Stewart, Luis Vasquez and Luis Figueroa will pay tribute to the legendary salsa band El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico.
Stewart, Vazquez, Manny Cruz, Luis Figueroa and Jahaira Plasencia will perform the group’s songs such as “Let them put on salsa”, “No bed for so many people” and “Pilito’s Party” under the musical direction of Maestro Sergio. George.

Colombian singers J Balvin and Karol G lead the list of nominations for the Premios Juventud 2022, followed by Puerto Ricans Rauv Alejandro and Farruco.
With eleven nominations, J Balvin and Karol G are aiming for awards in Album of the Year, My Favorite Streaming Artist, and Young Male and Female Artist respectively.
