This year’s edition of the Billboard Music Awards already has the list of nominees! The nominees were revealed last Monday, the 25th, and among them there are several k-pop artists, who, in addition to the categories in which they compete against singers from different musical genres, can also take home the trophy in the four categories dedicated to only award names from South Korean popular music, created in the last year.
It is worth remembering that the winners of the award, which has existed since the 1980s and is carried out by Billboard magazine, are chosen using performance metrics in the year-end Billboard charts, whose monitoring period for the 2024 edition was determined from October 28, 2023 to October 19 of this year, as reported by the Soompi portal.

Best Touring K-Pop Artist
Additionally, the track “Standing Next to You” by Jungkookby BTS, competes in the Best Selling Song category, alongside hits like “Beautiful Things” by Benson Boone“I Had Some Help (feat. Morgan Wallen)” from Post Malone“A Bar Song (Tipsy)” by Shaboozey and “Lose Control” by Teddy Swims. The idol is also competing in the Best Selling Artist category, in which Taylor Swift, Jelly Roll, Shaboozey and Teddy Swims They also have the chance to win the statuette.
The boy group Stray Kids also represents k-pop in the Best Duo/Group category, where the bands blink-182, Coldplay, Fuerza Regida and Linkin Park were also nominated.
Scheduled to be broadcast on December 12th at 10pm (Brasília time), the Billboard Music Awards will be hosted by the actress and comedian Michelle Buteau. The ceremony can be watched in full by Brazilian fans via Paramount+ streaming.
