The Italian designer offers sculptural new ways to wear ponytails to stand out this fall and winter 2022.
To celebrate his tenth year in the world of haute couture, Giambattista Valli went big. Especially when it comes to hairstyles. The models of this new Fall-Winter 2022 collection, called “l’Instant,” walked the catwalk in chic ponytails that are a hint of next season’s beauty trends.
Double sided haircut
The hair in the front of the face looks messy, and the roots are varnished in a classic style. At the back, a fuller, bolder look is revealed: a medium high and voluminous ponytail, sometimes braided, sometimes streaked or even swept along. Some tie at the end with a little black ribbon that adds an extra touch of elegance.
Hairstylist Cyndia Harvey’s team of hairstylists used hair extensions to create these giant, back-sweeping manes, securing them with mini clips and cleverly hidden rubber bands under the pigtails.
On the make-up side, graphic double eyeliner enhances the models’ look, while the rest of the beauty remains relatively bare and minimalistic. Some wear black stickers on removable eyelids that frame their eyes and complete their retro look.
