A new teaser for the highly anticipated third season of “The White Lotus” was released last Sunday, 10th, generating excitement among fans due to to the participation of Lisa, from the group Blackpink, in her debut role.
With the premiere of the new season next year, HBO seeks to raise expectations by releasing another glimpse of what’s to come. The promotional video features singer Lisa making her acting debut, accompanied by a cast that mixes new and familiar faces, such as Walton Goggins, Carrie Coon, Leslie Bibb, Michelle Monaghan, Parker Posey and Natasha Rothwell, who returns as Belinda.
The character
As reported by Variety, specific details about the character played by Lisa are still kept confidential. However, she is expected to be credited with her real name, Lalisa Manobal.
The transition from music to acting has been challenging for the K-pop star. In an interview with Elle USA, Lisa revealed that she cried when she found out that she had been chosen to join the cast of the series created by Mike White.
I think I cried. I was with my friends, my mom’s friends and my mom too, but I didn’t tell them I auditioned for it. I’m super excited and nervous, because it’s my first acting project. So I was happy for a second, and then I thought, “Oh, wait, wait, how am I going to deliver this?” she told the outlet.
Filming took place in Bangkok and on the Thai islands of Phuket and Koh Samui, providing the artist with the opportunity to be close to his homeland and enjoy local cuisine daily. Lisa also mentioned the satisfaction of having her mother present on set during filming.

“It’s pretty new to me, but I think it’s similar to shooting music videos… I’m excited for my fans to see it,” she shared.
Since its debut in July 2021, “The White Lotus” has captivated audiences. The second season arrived in October 2022, and although fans were hoping to watch the third season in 2024, the premiere has been pushed back to 2025.
