With more than ten titles already released in cinema, the Star Wars franchise is expected to get a new trilogy with a screenwriter from the X-Men films
Star Wars will get three new films in the cinema! The information was released by Deadline (via Omelete), this Thursday, 7th, which also states that Simon Kinbergscreenwriter and producer of the X-Men films, was chosen by Lucasfilm to write the new trilogy. The titles do not yet have a release date.
Furthermore, Deadline reveals that there are conflicting ideas about the project, as sources claim that it will be a continuation of the Skywalker Saga, more precisely episodes 10, 11 and 12 of the franchise, but that “insiders [da Lucasfilm]” say that the plot will be different, as it should “start a new saga”, in which names like James Mangold (Logan), Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy (Star Wars: Episode X – New Jedi Order), Taika Waititi (Thor: Love and Thunder) and Donald Glover (Atlanta) would be involved.
It is worth remembering that Simon Kinberg already know the universe created by George Lucasas he was in the production of the animated series “Star Wars: Rebels”, in addition to having already written a solo film about the bounty hunter Boba Fett, which ended up shelved.
