GOT7’s Jinyoung was released from his military duties after 18 months as an active soldier in the South Korean army

The idol remained out of the spotlight for 18 months — during which time he completed his military enlistment as an active soldier in the South Korean army — and, this Thursday, the 7th, he was able to talk to his fans again in person, as he was dismissed from obligations in the Armed Forces.
Upon leaving the military base, Jinyoung was received not only by reporters documenting the layoff, but also by his GOT7 colleagues, Yugyeom and BamBam! In an interview after his dismissal, reported by the Soompi portal, Jinyoung shared feelings of gratitude to his colleagues in the army and fans. He said:
I’ve had fun with good friends over the last year and a half. I think I became a strong person after joining the army. I promised the fans that I would return a better person, and I think I was released in good health, so I wanted to express my gratitude to the fans.
